Tip No.1: Ads are not important. Traffic is
Let’s think about it. No one will click these ads in your website
if there is no online traffic.
So, instead of focusing on the money from AdSense, pay attention to how you are able to improve your traffic flow.
The usual strategies of putting high quality original posts, making sure that the title is keywords rich, ensuring the posts is SEO friendly, will be applicable in this case.
When the traffic is high, you will stand a higher conversion rate from your readers clicking the ads.
Well, it does not come overnight for sure and be patient!
Tip No.2: Too Many Ads are not a Good Act
Put yourself into the position of a potential internet surfer.
Now that you reach a website with lots of fluff and promotion contents, and have ads everywhere.
Would you want to go back another time …? I am glad that you say “no” (see. I can read your mind!).
Here is the truth. Even though we want our readers to click these ads, we must understand that it is not a good idea to have too many ads on our website to distract our readers.
Your job as a blogger or online marketer is to engage your readers.
Putting too many ads on your site is inconsistent with this rule of engagement.
In my opinion, have maximum 3 but limited to preferably 1 or 2 ads on each page or each post. That’s it.
Tip No.3: AdSense does not work on WordPress.com anymore
Just in case you are like me who migrated from Blogger.com to WordPress.com, you should know that a while ago, Google made the announcement that AdSense would stop working on WordPress.com. In case you are confused, if you are currently using blogging service for free from WordPress (and your URL will be http://<yourname>.wordpress.com), this is WordPress.com service. So, in order to monetize your free WordPress blog like AdSense before, you have to apply for WordAds service from WordPress.com.
